The safety of our children is always top of mind and we all know there are many hidden dangers in the family home.

One which may not seem like it poses a threat is windows and balconies. Each year there are numerous reports in the media of children being seriously harmed by accidental falls from windows and balconies.

In 2013, it became a legal requirement in NSW that all window openings above a specified height be fitted with a safety device to prevent accidental falls. The Building Code of Australia (BCA) allows a maximum opening of less than 12.5cm for windows above the ground floor, must be fitted with devices that lock the window opening to less than 12.5cm.

Our KlassicView window systems offer fall prevention solutions, that fully comply with the National Construction codes and it requirements regarding the protection of openable windows.
